1.0              GENERAL STATEMENTS ABOUT BENEFITS

1.1              The Uintah School District furnishes Workers Compensation Insurance as prescribed by state law for all employees and authorized volunteers. Any employee or volunteer who is injured on the job will be furnished benefits from the district’s insurance carrier.

1.2              Employees cannot use paid time off (PTO), sick leave bank or vacation leaves while receiving workman’s compensation benefits. All leaves that an employee has accrued at the time of injury will be available to any employee when he/she returns to work.

1.3              If an employee selects option 2.2, Uintah School District will make standard retirement contributions based on actual gross pay.  If an employee selects option 2.1, no retirement contribution will be made.

 

2.0              COMPENSATION OPTIONS

2.1              Employee compensation will be limited to payments made by the district’s insurance program to the employee while he/she cannot return to work because of the on the job injury.(Workers Compensation)

OR

2.2              Employee will sign over Workers Compensation payment to the district and received his/her regular daily contract amount in exchange for ˝ day paid time off (PTO) or vacation day (if applicable) deduction for each contract day of absence.

 

3.0      LEAVE FOR WORKERS COMPENSATION

            3.1       An employee who files a workers compensation claim will not be required to use                                                         a Paid Time Off (PTO) day on the day of the work-related accident. 

                        3.1.1    The employee will be required to use Paid Time Off (PTO) or vacation

                        leave (if applicable) for all other days missed from work due to the workers compensation injury, except as stated in section 2.0 above.
