REPLACES PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS AND FOOD HANDLERS PERMIT APPROVED 10/17/85

The School Board recognizes the need to maintain healthful conditions within its buildings and among employees and students.

1.0              All employees:

1.1              Whenever, in the judgment of the administration or Board of Education, an employee’s health places the welfare of the pupils or the efficiency of the school in question, the employee shall, at the request of the administration, submit to a physical health or psychiatric examination by a medical professional.  Any recommendation shall be supported by written documentation.  The district shall pay for any required examination.

2.0              Bus Drivers:

2.1              Prior to driving any district vehicle which requires a CDL (Commercial Driver License) the employee must hold the necessary license.

2.2              New employees will pay for the initial examination.  The district will pay for subsequent examinations at the bid price.

3.0              Food Service Workers:

3.1              All food service workers will maintain a current food handlers’ permit issued by the Utah State Department of Health.

3.2              Unit managers will possess a current “ServSafe” food certification. The district will pay for the course in order for them to obtain this certification.
